Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Be a holder of a Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB;Ch.B.) from a University recognized in Kenya
- Must have completed a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine from a university recognized in Kenya
- Registered as a Medical Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council
- Have a Valid Practicing License
- Be of acceptable moral and professional standing
- Willing to undertake duties Physically in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time
- Certificate in computer application skills from an Institution recognized in Kenya
Duties and responsibilities
The Physician will be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
- Formulation, implementation and review of all health policies,regulations, standards, guidelines and protocols;
- Reviewing patients and instructing in writing all the recommendations;
- Undertaking ‘Second-on-Call’ duties including clerking, investigating and managing patients;
- Conducting weekly clinics;
- Conducting research and clinical audits;
- Training, supervising and mentoring Medical Officers, Medical Interns and other students;
- vii. Undertaking medico-legal duties;
- Undertaking medical examinations and preparing Medical Board proceedings;
- Ensuring data and information is collected, transmitted and utilized to benefit the client and service provider;
- Conducting disease surveillance, prevention and control; and
- Carrying out health education and promotion
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
