Tasks And Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will be expected to deliver on the following:
- Assist the National Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) Facilitator in programme management and monitoring
- Assist the preparation of FFF annual workplans and budgets in consultation in accordance FAO standards and regulations
- Support the organisation and logistics of the FFF Regional Meeting and FFF Annual Retreat to be held back to back In April 2023
- Assisting in development and implementation of Letters of Agreement (LoAs), Direct Beneficiary Grants (DBGs) in close with implementing partners
- Assisting in preparation of monthly and annual reports capturing key achievements as per the workplan
- Support FFF programme communication (including briefs, updates, photos, press releases, radio programmes and other communication s activities) and support, in collaboration with the ComDev, team producer organisations to develop their own communication strategies
- Ensuring compliance with the administrative procedures of FFF, including those related to updating its monitoring system FORIS with all country LoAs/DBGs, their progress on reporting and payments.
- In collaboration with M&E unit, undertake regular monitoring and reporting of FFF activities and make sure that FFF results are part of the country CPF reporting and FAO Kenya reporting to FAO HQ
- Planning and facilitating exchange visits for experience and knowledge sharing among producer associations within the country
- Facilitate the delivery of basic FFF tools to partner FFPOs, such as the FFPO self-assessment tool, proposal writing workshops, risk management, etc.
- Undertake any other relevant assignment as may be directed by FAOR from time to time
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Economics or Finance or related field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in capacity development of smallholder forest and farm producer organizations, cooperatives, youth or women groups
- Working knowledge (level c) of English and Kiswahili.
- Must be a National of Kenya.

- Experience in Project technical and financial monitoring and reporting
- Practical experience in communication for development focussing on producer organisations

- Excellent knowledge of computer MS Office packages.
