Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to oversee the Kitchen management with a view to optimal resource utilization, hygiene and general operation :
Planning menus and following guidelines on nutrition and healthy diet for clients
Supervising cleanliness of catering facilities
Managing kitchen equipment’s
Supervising cooks and all kitchen staff
Coordinating food prepa bation) cooking, placement and delivery of food stuff

Qualification

Must be a Kenyan Citizen
Have a minimum professional qualification of Diploma in catering and accommodation management, Food and Beverage or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Atleast one (1) year relevant working
Valid certificate of health for food handlers
Previous experience in the field will be an added
Competence in computer applications

Duties and Responsibilities.

Preparing raw foods for cooking;
Maintaining hygiene by ensuring cleaning of the kitchen and its surrounding
Proper storage of foodstuffs and setting up serving areas
Placement of food service line, replenishing of foodstuffs during service and reporting low stock levels.
Detecting and reporting spoil or unattractive food and detecting defective equipment and reporting the same to the supervisor

Requirements for Appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen
Be in possession of at least Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade (D) minus or its equivalent qualification form a recognized institution and
Have attended a course lasting not less than one (1) year and awarded a certificate in food production or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

OR

Attended a formal course lasting not less than two (2) months in Food Production organized by the Kenya Utalii College or another recognized institution.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Institutional food preparation.
