ForestFoods Fresh Produce Driver Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and helpful fresh produce delivery driver to support our customers. As the newest driver, this person will help us feed as many healthy eaters as possible — growing customer loyalty through pleasant interactions and excellent service. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator who has a valid driver’s license, has an enthusiastic attitude, has the utmost care for the delivery of ForestFoods produce, excellent delivery service, customer care and is looking for fexibility in the work schedule.
Objectives of this role
• Provide excellent customer service and build customer loyalty by delivering fresh produce in a timely, cordial manner
• Ensure orders are delivered accurately and in good condition
• Communicate any issues or delays and resolve problems efciently
• Represent the company with excellence and professionalism by driving safely, exercising good judgment, and treating customers with respect
Responsibilities
• Manage multiple orders, delivery locations, and customers at the same time
• Deliver orders within an optimal period of time, ensuring freshness of fresh produce and respect for customer preferences. Should farm produce lack freshness due to delays in delivery, this must communicate this with line manager immediately and or clients to decide on best way forward
• Safely operate a vehicle in all types of weather conditions, trafc conditions, and must at all times obey all trafc laws and regulations
• Full responsibility of company vehicle and or mode of transportation cleanliness, periodic maintenance, and functionality
• Navigate local streets and highways efciently – using technologies such as GPS when needed (ensure you have enough data at all times)
• Communicate clearly with customers and food service employees, demonstrating an eagerness to work through any issues or points of confusion
• Verify orders before each delivery and maintain a detailed, comprehensive delivery log
Required skills and qualifcations
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift and carry heavy food orders and operate a vehicle for prolonged periods of time
• Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication and confict resolution
• Mindset for organization and attention to details
Preferred skills and qualifcations
• Commercial Drivers License
• Previous delivery or customer service experience in any industry
• Proven track record of succeeding in time-sensitive situations
• Experience in handling cash and giving change, or mpesa payments
• Familiarity with the local area, including streets, highways, and buildings
Other Requirements
• Due to the nature of a startup business, the jobholder will be required to be a team player and help out on the farms with other necessary farm duties, feldwork, when not driving and doing deliveries
• To undertake other tasks as agreed with the upper management team
