Our client, a licensed Deposit Taking Sacco headquartered in Kisii Town, is seeking to recruit qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the positions of a Branch Manager, Micro Finance Manager,  Internal Auditor, Assistant Internal Auditor, Credit Officer, Micro Finance Officer and Accounts  Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of members register i.e., update of membership and preparation of  dividend 
  • Production of members monthly report
  • Ensure daily reconciliations
  • Extraction of the monthly trial balance, cash flows and forecasts
  • Verification of payment vouchers to assess accuracy
  • Maintaining the general ledger 
  • Maintaining SACCO’S books of accounts including petty cash, banking and bank reconciliation, debtors’ and creditors schedules and other relevant accounting duties 

Minimum Qualifications and Skills  

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a Business-Related Degree from a  recognized university.
  • CPA part II.
  • Computer literate.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a busy financial institution.
  • Sound knowledge of Sacco laws and regulations.
  • A person of integrity, team player with effective communication skills.
  • Excellent in analytical, interpersonal and team management skills.

Our client, a licensed Deposit Taking Sacco headquartered in Kisii Town, is seeking to recruit qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the positions of a Branch Manager, Micro Finance Manager,  Internal Auditor, Assistant Internal Auditor, Credit Officer, Micro Finance Officer and Accounts  Assistant.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The Internal Auditor Shall Provide secretariat and  coordination of the activities for the Audit and Supervisory Committees in liaison with the office of  the CEO and ensuring compliance with the laid down internal controls, all sacco policies and other  statutory requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing internal audit, risk and compliance strategies and manuals detailing the  procedures and best practices
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing the internal audit charter
  • Developing comprehensive audit programs and audit plans to cover all the activities and  programs
  • Test the institution’s disaster recovery and incidents management programs and advice the  management on areas of improvement
  • Conducting timely risk-based internal audits and advising the board of directors on all audit  matters
  • Assessing the reliability and integrity of financial, operating procedures and compliance with  set policies
  • Economic efficiency and effectiveness in utilization of the Sacco’s resources
  • Providing practical solutions to improve overall efficiencies and enhance internal controls
  • Monitoring the level of compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, processes, and  procedures
  • Conducting investigation on suspected internal fraud and corruption
  • Proactively keeping the board of directors and management aware of emerging trends  regarding internal controls, risk management, governance and internal auditing
  • Preparing and presenting accurate internal audit reports to the board of directors monthly,  review and follow up on agreed issues
  • Liaising with external auditors when audits are undertaken
  • Providing support, technical and secretarial services to the supervisory committee in the  performance of its duties under these regulations and the Cooperative Societies Act 1997
  • Promoting the highest standards of ethics and standards in the Sacco Society based on the  principles of integrity
  • Developing in collaboration with the Board, implementing, reviewing and advising on  effectiveness of the risk management framework and policies
  • Provide guidance on emerging operational, legal and regulatory compliance matters

Minimum Qualifications and Attributes  

  • A degree in finance or related field
  • A Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or any other  relevant field of study will be an added advantage
  • CPA – K/ACCA qualification
  • Five (5) years of working experience in a finance function with a minimum 3 years of auditing  experience in a senior position in a Deposit Taking Sacco
  • Membership in a professional body with good standing
  • CISA certification
  • A firm understanding of internal auditing standards and application
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant Sacco policies, processes, procedures and  guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks
  • Ability to identify solutions that effectively address business and control needs
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate audit results to functional heads and other  stakeholders

Credit Officer Job Co-op Bank

Credit Officer Job, Banking Jobs In Kenya 2023, 

Credit Officer REF: (SS/CO/02/23)

Our client, a licensed Deposit Taking Sacco headquartered in Kisii Town, is seeking to recruit qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the positions of a Branch Manager, Micro Finance Manager,  Internal Auditor, Assistant Internal Auditor, Credit Officer, Micro Finance Officer and Accounts  Assistant.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, the individual will be responsible for loan processing, loan monitoring, generating reports and initiative on the improvement of service delivery.

Tasks and Responsibilities  

  • Ensure strict adherence to loan policies/guidelines for the issuance of quality loans
  • Ensure member’s eligibility for loaning including the ability to repay and securities
  • Ensure members are advised appropriately based on their loan appraisal status/position
  • Ensure that all loans issued are effectively guaranteed 
  • Ensure timely loan appraisals within set time limits and communicate feedback to members within acceptable timelines 
  • Ensure a timely and effective loan approval process within set limits, by presenting appraised loans for approval and approving the same in the system. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of approved loans 
  • Ensure all loan forms processed, rejected, and deferred are kept safely and in member files 
  • Monitor all collaterals used for loans and ensure they are adequate and well updated
  • Ensure effective communication and advice to members on loan matters/queries
  • Ensure that new & continuing members’ deductions on savings, share capital and any other statutory deductions are accurate and timely 
  • Ensure all employer remittances/payments to the Sacco in lieu of Sacco loan payments are received and forwarded to Finance for settlement 
  • Ensure that all default notices and guarantor notices are issued in a timely manner
  • Ensure guarantor/collaterals substitutions are done accurately and in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications and Skills  

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a Business-Related Degree from a  recognized university 
  • CPA II or Credit Management Certification 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a busy financial institution 
  • Sound knowledge of Sacco laws and regulations 
  • A person of integrity, and team player with effective communication skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability on lending across all sectors 
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and team management skills
