key challenges Hindering Knec from carrying out electronic assessments Number 1 is a joke!

The challenges that the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is facing in electronic assessments.

some of the challenges are:

1.Technological challenges: Some of the teachers assigned the responsibility to book students for the national examinations are not technologically savvy leading to delays or entry of wrong data on the KNEC portal when registering candidates for exams

2.Covid-19 challenges: The pandemic affected the education calendar worldwide and disrupted the normal examination cycle. KNEC had to adjust its timetable and procedures to ensure the safety and integrity of the exams

3.Competency-based assessments: KNEC is rolling out competency-based assessments through the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at the basic education level. This requires new skills and tools to measure the learners’ competencies and not just their knowledge

These are some of the major challenges that KNEC is facing in electronic assessments.
